apitalization: Historical Terms
Lesson 5-40
Comments:
Prompt:
Specific historical events, movements, and periods are usually capitalized: "the Middle Ages, the Enlightenment, the Boar War, the American Civil War." The definite article "the" is sometimes included as part of a historical term by some authors. For purposes of this lesson only, do not capitalize the article "the" as part of the historical term.
Directions:
The sentences below either show errors in capitalization or are correct as shown. Click to select the word or words you feel should be correctly capitalized but are not capitalized, or select "(correct as is)" at the end of each sentence.
